What's going on at the Greater Edmonton Alliance

As of July 2025, the Greater Edmonton Alliance for the Common Good (GEA) has brought on a new organizer to take on the work of rebuilding the Alliance.

Juan comes from the climate movement and has been organizing on climate since 2019 in Alberta, the fossil fuel centre of Canada. While he finishes his work term at his climate NGO, Juan has been busy meeting with over 100 leaders in the city, while looking to bring on 6 new members by the end of the year and fund a full-time organizer.

In September, Juan brought together some of those leaders to meet with 24 Members of Parliament from the Liberal party caucus at a reception to promote the Youth Climate Corps, Juan's current organizing campaign.

With only 2 Albertan MPs in government, this was an incredible opportunity for local leaders to share a room with decision-makers and study our tendencies.
