April, 2025:
An amazing day of football, fun and community action!
A rainy, windy day couldn't stop more than 500 people coming together for the Renew Australia for All MultiCulti Cup on the weekend.
16 teams proudly represented their countries and cultural groups played 55 lively games. Well done to every team that did an amazing job in great community spirits.
Huge congratulations for the Champion team Sudan who had a comeback victory in extra time against the formidable Eritrean team 4-2. The Nepalese team won third place.
Congratulations also to the Zomi community that won both "Most Sociable Community" and "Largest Turnout" awards!
Everyone took home the message of Renew Australia For All with commitments for thousands of conversations in their communities about the Energy Bill Savings Plan that could save an average home $3000 through solar, batteries and energy efficiency.

May, 2025:
A delegation of local leaders visited the office of Jim Chalmers MP re-elected Member for Rankin and Federal Treasurer.

We delivered postcards from community members supporting the Renew Australia For All campaign as well as a plant symbolising growth.
Our plant gift is to congratulate the government on their commitments so far on our agenda and their election win. It is also a symbol that we hope their commitment will grow over the next 3 years to renters and others who can't access solar savings yet.
Bashir Hussain from Islamic Shia Council of Queensland ISCQ,
Bushra Sadik from Queensland Program of Assistance to Survivors of Torture and Trauma, and Reverend Geoff Hoyte from Anglican Parish of Logan led the delegation.
The commitments made so far include:
* Extra $500million for clean energy upgrades of social housing.
* Election commitment of $2.3 Billion for household battery subsidy.
*Future Made in Australia plan for quality jobs powered by clean energy
December, 2025:
Queensland Community Alliance thanks the Gladstone Regional Council Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillors and supportive staff for having Carmen Jen from Gladstone DCN , Emma Smith from Queensland Conservation Council and Elise in Council today for a Deputation on the need for accessible changing place facilities across our region for people with a disability and their support for this work.

Their community leaders have been undertaking a research action process on this issue throughout the year, surveying our community events and discussing this with other councils. Our community wants to be an inclusive place where all people with a disability can access community events and spend time together with friends and family. Their Council has led the way on supporting people with a disability through the Access and Inclusion Plan, but this is a missing piece for our region.
This would be a great community benefit for their region as they transition their economy, and recognise the great support given!
