Over the February 22 weekend, 25 community leaders from Logan and Brisbane Southside in Queensland, Australia came together to build power and strategy as part of the Renew Australia For All campaign. Hosted by IAF Pacific affiliate Queensland Community Alliance, this gathering was a critical step in mobilizing communities to push for solutions that lower household energy bills and ensure every Australian can access clean, affordable energy.

With the cost of living set to be a decisive issue in the upcoming election, community leaders are taking action to make household energy affordability a national priority. Too many families are struggling with rising bills while solutions like rooftop solar remain out of reach for many renters, apartment dwellers, and low-income households. The Federal Government has the power to change this by funding energy efficiency upgrades and making clean energy accessible to all.

Through this campaign, communities are working to ensure that every household—whether renting or owning—can benefit from lower energy costs and a more sustainable future. By building community power and engaging thousands in direct conversations, they are making it clear that bold action on household energy is not optional—it is essential.

IAF Pacific is proud to support the Queensland Community Alliance in its work to build power and secure tangible change for Queenslanders. With 32 member organisations representing 1.7 million people, QCA has been at the forefront of community organising, as their commitment to grassroots democracy and leadership development ensures that the voices of those most affected by rising energy costs are heard and acted upon.

The IAF Pacific remains committed to strengthening this work and amplifying the impact of community-led solutions for a fairer and more sustainable Australia.
